The Sand
pieces are a unique item to Tombiglee Studio - Penney Lockhart in the
way they are executed. The sand is colored, natural and glass sand
in brown and black. They are built up pieces in the portraits and
large subject matter. The miniatures are small items of the
Native Americans' past.
In some of
these, I have used colored sand for the colors, yet that is not always
the case. I paint in the hues of watercolor to give the color needed, or
the texture and modeling the face or subject needs. The texture of
the sand adds to this. All of these are one of a kind.
I will not
duplicate them. So consider this when you view them. They
are all mounted in shadow box frame with floating mats to add depth.
They can
take some sun, but I suggest that you invest in a light that goes above
to pieces. Enjoy them.
